The International Coalition for Israel (ICI), is an international organization established in Geneva in 2020 to combat Jew hatred and foster good relations between Israel and the nations.
About
In 2020, 75 years after the end of the Holocaust, ECI launched the International Coalition for Israel in Geneva to act as a global umbrella for initiatives and activities across the world in an effort to build a broader coalition in the global fight against anti-Semitism.
.
Why now?
Hostility towards Israel and the Jewish people is endemic in our societies across the world and on social media across the world wide web. That which has historically been a European plague has now become universal. It is an anti-Semitic hostility that fuels conspiracy theories and blames the Jews for all manner of problems facing the world: from alleged structures of inequality masterminded by powerful elites to the ravages of the coronavirus pandemic
How can we fight back?
As a Christian initiative, ICI believes in the power of prayer but also in the need to take concrete action through education and advocacy. Like social reformers of the past, from William Wilberforce to Henri Dunant, ICI believes in the restoration of Israel as the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people but also in celebrating Jewish life and culture in our own nations and showing appreciation for the Jews’ unique contribution across many fields of endeavour.
Through our international staff we are active in many of the world’s capitals, where we contend for a greater appreciation of Jewish life and culture, and call for greater respect for the Jewish people and their customs and belief. It has been our witness that education and advocacy of this kind helps build a forum for cultural engagement and diplomacy which offers the most effective antidote to anti-Semitism.
#ChurchesAgainstAntisemitism
The first global initiative of ICI is #Churchesagainstantisemitism – I am my brother´s keeper. It is a vision that was first presented at the launch of International Coalition for Israel in Geneva in connection with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day of January 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the campaign was put on hold until 2021. It will now be re-launched at an on-line Holocaust memorial on 27 January 2021.
